Ms. Dense Appenzeller: My mother's maiden name was Pequignot. She came to the US in 1946, as a war bride. She and I were watching the news last night and an interesting story was featured. A gentleman, George Pequignot, lost a class ring and the person that found it traced the ownership. The owner had passed away, but the ring was given to his son. My mother was shocked to hear her maiden name because she hadn't heard her name since leaving France.
